The Easy-to-Use NetRootz ToolzMgr
Behind the scenes, NetRootz makes it easy for grassroots organizations to manage their email communications and events and build a template-based website that is updated in an online administration area known as the NetRootz ToolzMgr. It's very user-friendly, intuitive and simple enough for the novice to use, so just about anyone in your group can help.

Some questions you might have about NetRootz:

How can NetRootz help our organization grow?
NetRootz subscribers are impassioned activists looking for ways to effectively work for change. When your group joins, you'll be listed when subscribers search for organizations that match their areas of interest and location. They will automatically be added to your email list when they click on your group. And, because they can control whether your email messages go to their regular email inbox or only their personal NetRootz organizer page, they will be more willing to add your group to their list. You will also be provided with the HTML code to add to your website so visitors to your site can easily add themselves to your mailing list.

What if our organization requires membership dues?
The free NetRootz toolz do not currently include a method for collecting dues. This is something planned for Phase II, which you will be invited to add for a minimal cost when it is available. The NetRootz toolz are designed to help grassroots organizations get their message out to the widest possible audience. It's not designed to limit your messages to dues-paying members. You can, however, specify in a calendar listing if a particular event is open to the public or exclusively for members.

How does NetRootz help us maintain our member database?
NetRootz is designed around individual subscribers who maintain their own contact information. If their email address or other contact information changes, they change it once in their profile manager and it is automatically updated for every group they belong to.

What about our members who are not NetRootz subscribers?
Naturally you are going to want to encourage your members to be NetRootz subscribers since it is going to make your job a lot easier and their participation will be enhanced because they will be so much more organized. But your members do not have to be subscribers to get your email messages. When your organization joins, you will upload your email contact list. Each member will receive an email from your organization telling them that you are now using NetRootz to manager your calendar and emails (and possibly your website too!) and inviting them to subscribe. Their name and email address will be added to our master database if it isn’t in there already but if they are not a subscriber, only your group will have permission to send them email messages (or any other group that has previously added them to NetRootz). We will NEVER send messages directly to anyone who is not a NetRootz subscriber unless they are in our own contact manager.

If we already have a calendar and/or email manager, why should we use NetRootz?
NetRootz toolz are very easy to use. Just about anyone in your group can take on the responsibility of keeping up your calendar and sending out email messages and action alerts without any special design or programming skills. What’s more, by joining NetRootz, you are helping your members to manage their participation in your group as well as many others. More and more, people are finding that when they experience how empowering it feels to get involved and actually DO SOMETHNG, instead of just complaining, they are ready to do more with other groups. By being a part of NetRootz, your organizations will grow and your members will too!

Will NetRootz share our member list with anyone else?
Absolutely not! Even though your members will be added to a master list (after checking to see if they are not already in it) only the groups that add them (or groups the subscribers select) will have permission to access that data or send them email messages or alerts. If you add or delete an email from your list, it will only effect that individual with respect to your group. NetRootz will NEVER send emails to individuals who are not in our own contact list or NetRootz subscribers and we will never share your member contact information with anyone.

What if our group needs more?
We are busy developing additional features for our groups and we’re always eager to hear your suggestions on how to improve our NetRootz toolz. Organizations will be able to upgrade their NetRootz program with new features as they become available. Some of these features will require a monthly fee and/or a one-time set up fee. Some new NetRootz toolz we are currently working on include:

1. membership data management,
2. member discussion forums,
3. online fundraising and store,
4. job bank and volunteer openings,
5. event reservations,
6. publicity tools,
7. webcasting & online meetings.
